As the Destination Sustainability Manager within the USAID Developing Sustainable Tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Turizam) Project, Olja is at the forefront of efforts to enhance nature conservation and expand the officially protected areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She spearheads project activities aimed at preserving assets within the cultural, natural, and business sectors.
In her role, Olja is dedicated to amplifying the contribution of cultural and natural sites to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s economic development. She actively works on introducing and implementing initiatives that engage local communities and the private sector in the responsible management of publicly-owned assets through conservation-driven, socially-conscious contract mechanisms. Olja has been actively working on the Via Dinarica mega hiking trail development, and she has more than 15 years of experience in tourism and the creative industry, encompassing work experience with different international organisations such as USAID, UNDP, WWF, Sida and different ENGOs.
