With the premier screening of the film “Battle on the Neretva” (Bitka na Neretvi) on November 29, 1969, the cultural and sports center “Skenderija” was opened. “Dom mladih” was built as an integral part of this Center, on an area of over 7,000 m2.

The purpose was to build quality foundations of cultural life, bringing world-famous and recognized cultural events to Sarajevo. Thus, for the first time, this city got a facility where the creativity of young people came to full expression.

The space of “Dom mladih” was used for the organization of fairs, congresses, concerts, exhibitions, as well as rehearsals of cultural and artistic associations, etc. Many unestablished pop and rock groups and performers started their careers precisely in “Dom mladih” and later became recognized musicians throughout the region and the world: Kemal Monteno, Bijelo dugme, Dino Merlin, Indexi, Crvena jabuka, Plavi orkestar , Ambasadori, Regina, SCH and many others.

Dom mladih – Centar Skenderija Sarajevo will serve as the main stage of the Futures Leaders Summit 2023 covering the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, all Keynotes, Panels and Fireside Chats, as well as Partner Events.
