
Goran Janjic
Goran Janjic is a corporate and government affairs, sustainability, and private sector development professional with 20+ years of progressive experience in advising C-suite clients across corporate, government, and international development sectors, ultimately influencing the business enabling and regulatory environment.
With senior-level experience at the intersection of public, private, and international development, he is, as a CEO, currently managing Western Balkans Green Navigator- a regional public/private sector sustainability hub. He also initiated and led the Development Fund of Vojvodina accreditation process with the Green Climate Fund – the world’s biggest climate fund, managing USD 10bn and spearheading the transition of developing countries towards a low carbon economy.
Before that, Goran Janjic led the first Delivery Unit Team for Agriculture and Food Industry in the Prime Minister’s Office, providing expert support and strategic guidance in safeguarding and upgrading the national agribusiness sector estimated at $5 billion, including EU integration, institutional reform, sustainability, investment, trade promotion, and crisis management. As an institutional focal point for multilateral development banks (MDBs) and bilateral development institutions, he fostered dialogue with external counterparts and actively contributed to an enhanced relationship between the Prime Minister’s Office and international development institutions, including the World Bank, the Green Climate Fund, EBRD, EIB, IMF, EU Commission, UNDP, and GiZ.
From 2003 to 2011, he led private sector development components on the two biggest USAID projects in Serbia, aligning multi-stakeholder priorities and strategies and driving design, development, and scaling of new and enhanced solutions. His work resulted in the implementation of 100+ projects funded by international development organizations, including USAID, FAO, UNDP, the World Bank, and UNEP, for programs valued at over $60 million.
Janjic leveraged his corporate experience as a keynote speaker on several international conferences organized by: EBRD (in Belgrade), US Chamber of Commerce (in Kyiv), and Government of Moscow region (in Moscow). Last but not least, in partnership with international organizations like EIB, GCF and UNDP, he developed and chaired the two most important regional sustainability conferences recently, Western Balkans Sustainability Dialogue and the First Western Balkans Sustainable Investing Forum.
