
Edin Skaljic
Founder of the first digital fabrication laboratory in BiH ‘FabLab B&H’, board member of Digital Innovation Hub ‘Digital Storm’, economic advisory council member for Municipality Novo Sarajevo, and founder and CEO of Represent doo, and BSIP doo.
Edin Skaljic as mechanical engineer was educated in Bosnia, UK and Germany. He gained his more than 20-year managerial experiences in the US Army, investment banking in the field of Intellectual Property and additive manufacturing industry. He is also a registered patent attorney.
Edin is currently an entrepreneur with business interests in diverse areas including advanced manufacturing, innovative technology, and intellectual property rights.
Since 2018, his major interest has been around the creation of a sustainable innovation ecosystem with Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 technology in BiH.
This has led to industry leading knowledge organisation, and business networking platforms including pioneering the maker movement in BiH, Maker Faire Sarajevo, establishing teaching learning factory and deep-tech micro education, industry training, and consulting service to the industry.
He has successfully positioned FabLab B&H as a strategic partner in numerous national and EU initiatives/programs.
To date, he has conducted numerous research on additive manufacturing applications in fields such as Accelerated and Rapid Prototyping, Medicine, Automotive, Consumer Goods, Energy, etc., and has disseminated research as Keynote Speaker in numerous conferences/events and Universities.
His work is mainly focused on the social and environmental impact of new technologies as a catalyst for innovative product design, value creation, and the sustainable use of resources, aiming at delivering added value and sustainability in the country.
