
Samel Arslanagic πΈπͺ
Samel was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in July 1979. He received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Lyngby, Denmark, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He is presently on the faculty of the Department for Space Research and Technology (DTU Space), where he is the Head of the Division for Electromagnetic Systems, which also hosts and operates the DTU Electromagnetic Test Centre and the DTU-ESA Spherical Near-Field Antenna Test Facility. He was a Visiting Scholar at the EM Laboratory, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, USA, in Fall of 2005, and Summer of 2011. He is the authored or coauthor of more than 40 journal papers, 100 conference papers, and four book chapters. His research interest is in applied electromagnetics, spanning waveβmatter interactions, antennas, functional material structures, RCS measurements, and electromagnetic education. Dr. ArslanagiΔ received the 2018 DTU Student Unionβs βLecturer of the Yearβ award for his teaching in electromagnetics. In recognition of his excellent research and dissemination of natural sciences to a broader audience, he was awarded the 2021 H.C. Γrsted Medal in Silver by The Society for Dissemination of Natural Sciences established by H.C. Γrsted in 1824.
