Samira Hunček 🇧🇦

Samira Hunček serves as Chairwoman of the Coordinating Committee on Gender Equality Implementation within the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this role, she is responsible for advancing the integration of gender perspectives into the security sector and developing institutional mechanisms that promote equality and inclusion across security institutions. Her work focuses on aligning Bosnia and Herzegovina’s security structures with international standards and commitments, including the principles of Women, Peace and Security set out in UN Security Council resolutions. Hunček has actively participated in high-level expert discussions and policy dialogues aimed at increasing the representation, participation, and influence of women in security decision-making, as well as fostering sustainable peace, inclusive governance, and equitable professional opportunities within law enforcement and security management in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
