Dr Munib Mesinovic is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, where he researches artificial intelligence and machine learning for healthcare. His work focuses on developing trustworthy, interpretable, and clinically useful AI systems using electronic health records, longitudinal data, graph learning, and survival analysis.

A Rhodes Scholar, Dr Mesinovic completed his DPhil in Engineering Science at Oxford, researching explainable time-series representation learning for coronary heart disease. He previously completed an MSc in Computer Science at Oxford, focused on deep learning for gene engineering with CRISPR, and a BSc in Electrical Engineering at New York University, where he graduated as Valedictorian and received the Founders Day Award.

At Oxford, he has led the machine-learning workstream of a multi-million-pound NIHR programme developing a next-generation NHS kidney transplant outcome platform, including uncertainty-aware time-to-event modelling and validation using national registry and electronic health-record data. He has also conducted research at The Alan Turing Institute, developing interpretable dynamic graph approaches for cardiovascular prediction.

Dr Mesinovic has published research in venues including Nature Biomedical Engineering, Communications Medicine, Communications Engineering, JAMIA, Scientific Reports, and ACM Computing Surveys, alongside presentations at ICML, KDD, ICLR, and NeurIPS workshops. His distinctions include the Rhodes Scholarship, Royal Society of Medicine Student Prize, Alan Turing Institute PhD Student Enrichment Award, and an EPSRC-funded research grant as Principal Investigator.
