Bio
Zerina Mandžo-Čolić is the Women’s Economic Empowerment Officer at the UN Women’s Country Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She currently works on improving the economic position of women in the country through the improvement of the resilience of women and other stakeholders in the area of women’s entrepreneurship.
Zerina also works on digitalization and innovation to showcase that the technology can be utilized as the new approach to empowering women and girls worldwide. Besides, she works for the IT Girls Initiative, which is jointly managed by UN Women, UNDP, and UNICEF. The initiative focuses on gender equality in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector and increasing women’s participation through skills development, mentorship, economic empowerment, and confidence-boosting. She is a Computer Science Engineer with an additional specialty in Management.
Currently, Zerina is in the Master’s program in Management and Information Systems. She worked in several IT companies in Sarajevo and is a certified trainer by international organizations.
